The Larry Metcalf Exemplary Dissertation Award is a $250 award given in odd-numbered years for research completed in pursuit of the doctoral degree which makes a significant contribution to research in the field. The research must be outstanding in the areas of problem statement, analysis of related literature, methods and procedures, analysis of data, and discussion of results. The CiviConnections Grant awards $7,500 grants to a team of three teachers for implementing a new program that provides teacher teams and students in grades 3-12 with opportunities to link local historical inquiry with community service-learning activities. A 100000 Grant Went To A Company Called TV One

a newly launched cable company operating in Silver Spring, Md. They got this money from the Montgomery Country Department of Economic Development They also received a $75,000 grant from the state office of economic development and another $75,000 grant from the state to train their employees. In addition they received another $150,000 in grant money from the State of Maryland
