Called Direct Housing – Natural Disaster and referred to as Program #10.445 in the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance, this program assists qualified lower income rural families to meet emergency assistance needs resulting from natural disaster to buy, build, rehabilitate, or improve dwellings in rural areas. Funds are only available to the extent that funds are not provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). For the purpose of administering these funds, natural disaster will only include those areas identified by a Presidential declaration. Emergency Money To Pay Rent and Utility Bills

The City of Leavenworth, Kansas contracts with Catholic Community Services (CCS) to offer an Emergency Housing Assistance program to families and individuals in need. The program provides counseling and valuable referrals to low-income city residents who are experiencing a housing emergency. 7500 Grant For Seniors to Fix Up Their Home

The Rural Housing Repair and Rehabilitation Grants Program provides loans and grants to very low-income homeowners to repair or improve their homes or to remove health or safety hazards. Applicants must be 62 years of age or older and must have incomes below 50% of the area median. That can be up to $27,000 for seniors in Maryland, which includes most seniors I know. 500 for Medical and Dental Assistant Studies

Those pursuing studies in medical technology, medical laboratory technician, medical assisting, dental assisting, phlebotomy or office laboratory technician may apply for a scholarship with this organization.
