Local Colleges Get Money to Fix Up Your Home

Called the Historically Black Colleges and Universities Program and referred to as Program #14.520 in the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance, this program assists Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) expand their role and effectiveness in addressing community development needs in their localities, including neighborhood revitalization, housing, and economic development consistent with the purposes of Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974. The HBCU program also encourages greater citizen participation in the local/neighborhood planning process and, ultimately, in development of their localities’ and States’ Consolidated Plan for submission to HUD.
