Incentives for Energy Efficient Commercial Motors
Efficiency Vermont offers its business customers rebates to encourage the installation of efficient motors and variable frequency drives (VFD). Rebates amounts are dependent on the horsepower size and efficiency of the VFD or the motor. There is no set limit on the amount of rebates that a customer may take, but rebates above $2,500 will require pre-approval from Efficiency Vermont. Eligible VFDs are supply fans, return fans, exhaust fans and chilled water pumps from 3 to 10 horsepower that are used to control commercial HVAC equipment. To be eligible for this rebate, VFDs should be new and not replace existing VFDs. Eligible motors should be new and meet or exceed the NEMA efficiencies listed on the application.
