Energy Rebates for Multi-Family Residences

The Black Hills Power (BHP) Customer Rebate Program offers cash rebates for the purchase of electric water heaters, electric resistance heat systems, geothermal heating and cooling systems. A $15/kW rebate is available when the home has any form of permanently installed electric resistance heat, in addition to an installed Demand Control unit or other energy management device. Water heaters must have a minimum capacity of 30 gallons and a maximum 4.5 kW electric heating element to qualify for the $1/tank gallon rebate. The geothermal heat pump rebate is available for multi-family apartment structures. Also included in the Customer Rebate Program is a free energy savings analysis that compares specific water heaters and heating and cooling systems to be installed in homes.
