Commercial & Industrial Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Groton Utilities offers incentives for its commercial and industrial customers to install energy-efficient equipment in their facilities through several efficiency programs. Rebates for energy-efficient lighting retrofits and vending machine controls are based on the number of kilowatt-hours (kWh) saved. Rebates for new energy-efficient lighting and high-efficiency motors are based on the number and type/efficiency rating of units installed. Rebates for HVAC equipment are based on the system size and efficiency. In most cases, the rebate is limited to 50% of the total project cost. Groton Utilities also offers cash incentives for customers who participate in the utility’s Demand Response Program. This voluntary program requires customers to reduce electricity consumption when the electric system is severely constrained and the price of electricity is very high. This typically occurs only a few times a year during peak summer months.
