To ensure that there are enough trained health professionals, the Indian Health Service provides for the repayment of loans to those professionals who agree to serve in an Indian Health Service Facility. Money can be used for the repayment of student loans. The minimum period of participation is two years, and the maximum loan payment is $20,000 per year.
