Grants for Non-Profits to Install Solar Electric Systems
Namaste Solar Electric provides grants to help local non-profits install photovoltaic (PV) systems on their buildings. Two types of grants are available through the program: matching grants and full grants. Matching grants allow non-profits to install PV systems with minimal investments. Namaste Solar’s contribution is determined by calculating the retail price of the solar system and deducting the utility rebate amount (generally 50%-60%). Namaste Solar will contribute 50% of the remaining amount. The nonprofit’s contribution can be secured through other grants, fundraisers or angel donors, or with general operating funds. With full grants, Namaste Solar donates 100% of the post-rebate cost of the solar system.
